Walks of life
Located in the most prominent and busiest urban development in Bandar Seri Begawan, the Walks of Life is a modest scale mixed-use development with intention to link the four main junctions from Kiulap, Gadong, Kiarong, and Berakas exits, transforming into a public network and provide new pedestrian friendly access.
This not only enhance the existing connectivity but will also serve as engaging point of reference within the urban development. Through this vibrant civic space, diverse communities - made up of different walks of life are able to connect through new experiences in their daily life. The design of this new access is inspired by the New York Highline public park a 1.45- mile- long elevated linear park which was once a rail line and is now a vibrant public space.
The landscape of the park is richly vegetated with various species of plantations and pre-cast concrete pavements that blends in with the vegetated ground creating a “pathless” landscape.

Concept

Derived from the river analogy, meanders, theconcept of the form is inspired, taking its meanderingpath to create seamless connectivity. Itsorganic form of spatial experiences is inspiredby the formation of an ox-bow lake, the aftermathof a meandering path
